Full Stack Developer - Java, React, JS

About the role

We are looking for a Full Stack Developer to join the IT team of a tertiary institution. The role involves building, maintaining and enhancing web‑based applications that support academic and administrative processes.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the development team to design, develop, test and maintain existing systems.
• Gather requirements from business users and translate them into technical specifications.
• Work with UI designers to create responsive front‑end applications.
• Develop micro‑service containers that expose backend functionality via RESTful APIs.
• Produce and keep up‑to‑date system documentation.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the Director of the Office or delegates.

Required profile

• A recognised degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• At least three years of experience in system development or a pivotal role in a software development team.
• Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, debugging and documentation.
• Knowledge of AI applications in software development is an advantage.

• JavaScript, jQuery, RESTful API development
• Server‑side JavaScript frameworks: Node.js, NestJS, Express.js
• Client‑side JavaScript frameworks: ReactJS, Next.js, AngularJS
• Procedures, functions and packages in Oracle Database or Microsoft SQL Server
• SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Suite
• Hybrid server (on‑premises and cloud) configuration and performance optimisation
• OpenShift, IBM WebSphere, Microsoft Windows Server, Azure Cloud
• Databases: Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL
• Python (basic knowledge)
