German & French Teacher (Secondary, German International Stream)

About the role

The German Swiss International School (GSIS) in Hong Kong, a non-profit international school with about 1,300 students and 240 staff, is hiring a German and French teacher for its secondary German International Stream. The school is divided into a German stream leading to the German International Abitur and an English stream leading to I/GCSE and IBDP qualifications. The position starts in August 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Teach a differentiated programme that meets each student's needs, abilities and stage of development, giving every student the chance to succeed and challenging them to reach their full potential.
• Keep up to date with current teaching and learning practices, including differentiated learning, assessment and reporting.
• Deliver the German curriculum with native-level German fluency.

Required profile

• Teacher training from Germany, Switzerland or Austria.
• Proven secondary teaching experience is desired.
• Native German fluency and the ability to deliver the German curriculum are mandatory.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Culturally sensitive, tolerant and patient, with good teamwork and communication skills.
• Full background checks, including criminal record and child protection screening, are carried out; the successful candidate must attend in-house child protection training and sign a Code of Conduct.
