Infrastructure Engineer – Global Transformation Project

About the role

We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join a global multinational corporation on a large‑scale transformation project. The role focuses on on‑premises data‑centre infrastructure, Linux/Unix systems, middleware and virtualization.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain Linux/Unix operating systems across on‑premises data‑centre environments.
• Collaborate with external vendors and global/regional teams to ensure seamless infrastructure setup and stability.
• Apply structured problem‑solving and incident management processes (ITIL framework) to resolve infrastructure and middleware issues.
• Manage and maintain virtualization platforms such as VMware, KVM and OpenShift, and support containerisation initiatives using Docker.
• Work closely with infrastructure, application and security teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.
• Participate in projects involving OS provisioning, server builds, patching and middleware integration.

Required profile

• Proven experience in infrastructure engineering within on‑premises data‑centre environments.
• Strong hands‑on Linux/Unix administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to work with external vendors and cross‑functional global teams.
• Familiarity with middleware concepts such as Kafka and MQ.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, OpenShift) and basic containerisation (Docker).
• Basic understanding of database concepts.
• Good command of Cantonese and basic English.
