Kindergarten Learning Assistant

About the role

The Kindergarten Learning Assistant will support teachers in delivering a play‑based curriculum that nurtures curiosity, exploration and discovery among young learners. Working closely with the teaching team, you will help create a safe, stimulating environment that encourages children’s natural interests and abilities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in planning and setting up developmentally appropriate learning activities.
• Lead small learning groups following teacher plans and provide constructive feedback.
• Observe children, discuss observations with teachers and help tailor future learning experiences.
• Support children individually or in groups according to their needs, including during study trips.
• Maintain a safe, organized classroom and facilitate regular outdoor learning opportunities.
• Reflect on personal practice, set professional goals and engage in continuous learning.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues and participate in school events.

Required profile

• High level of English proficiency.
• Commitment to play‑based learning.
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Post‑Graduate Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
• Hong Kong Registered Kindergarten Teacher status or Qualified Kindergarten Teacher (QKT) certification.
• Experience in an international school setting and familiarity with the PYP framework.
