Lead Software Engineer – Python (Equities Technology)

About the role

Join an agile development team building a top‑tier Delta One platform that enables the front office to create, manage, and report on equities‑based baskets. As a Lead Software Engineer you will design and deliver secure, stable, and scalable technology solutions while collaborating with product owners, front‑office, and quantitative research teams.

Key responsibilities

• Engineer performant, scalable, reusable RESTful micro‑services and APIs using Python.
• Champion quality, own non‑functional requirements, and drive CI/CD best practices.
• Define sprint goals, lead development direction, and mentor junior engineers.
• Identify and automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
• Conduct code reviews and collaborate with backend and frontend teams.
• Work closely with Trading, Sales, Quantitative Research, and other technology groups.

Required profile

• 5+ years of commercial Python development experience.
• Proven experience building and maintaining micro‑services architectures.
• Familiarity with Python web frameworks (Flask, Tornado, Bottle) and document‑oriented databases such as MongoDB.
• Hands‑on experience with automated testing (e.g., PyUnit) in a commercial setting.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins), application resiliency, and security.
• Experience collaborating with frontend teams to design scalable RESTful APIs.
