Lecturer – General Education & Research

About the role

The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts seeks a Lecturer to join its General Education Department. The postholder will teach, coordinate and develop core liberal arts and elective courses that support the Academy’s interdisciplinary mission.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality undergraduate and postgraduate courses in liberal arts, humanities and cultural studies.
• Design, update and manage curricula, learning outcomes and assessment tools.
• Collaborate with faculty across the six Schools and liaise with part‑time teachers.
• Contribute to innovative teaching and learning approaches, including online and technology‑enhanced delivery.
• Participate in programme development and academic research related to performing arts education.

Required profile

• Postgraduate degree (preferably a doctorate) in humanities, cultural studies or performing arts studies.
• Minimum four years of teaching experience at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
• Experience in programme development, course design, management and delivery.
• Knowledge of HKQF Generic Level Descriptors and outcomes‑based education.
• Ability to develop courses for in‑person, online or digital‑technology‑supported formats.
• Research interest or expertise in areas such as digital culture, arts and wellbeing, sustainability in the arts, or community theatre (advantage).
