Pastry & Bakery Commis (Full‑time)

About the role

The Pastry & Bakery Commis supports the kitchen team at a prestigious hotel in Hong Kong. You will prepare ingredients, assemble cold and hot items, and maintain a clean, safe work environment. This entry‑level role offers hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced, high‑standard culinary setting.

Key responsibilities

• Portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.
• Prepare and cook cold and hot foods, ensuring quality, presentation and food safety standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely and efficiently.
• Test food for doneness, monitor quality during preparation, and adjust as needed.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions, and maintain clean kitchen areas.
• Check appliance and food temperatures, and follow all safety and security policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of related kitchen experience.
• Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift objects up to 25 lb.
• Willingness to follow company policies, maintain confidentiality and present a professional appearance.
