Postdoctoral Fellow – Cancer Immunology & Bioengineering

About the role

The Centre for Oncology and Immunology is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join Prof. Naoto Hirano’s lab. The role focuses on functional screens, organoid models, and advanced genomic and proteomic techniques to discover druggable cancer targets for hard‑to‑treat malignancies.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute functional screening assays in cell and animal models, including organoids.
• Apply single‑cell genomic and proteomic technologies to identify novel therapeutic targets.
• Develop and test engineered immune‑bio molecules (muteins) and assess their efficacy in humanized mouse models.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to translate findings toward pre‑clinical and clinical development.
• Prepare scientific reports, manuscripts, and presentations for internal and external audiences.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in biomedical sciences, bioengineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong publication record in cancer biology, immunology, or related fields.
• Excellent written and spoken English and ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Self‑motivated, hardworking, and capable of independent research.
