Principal Human Resources Partner – Hong Kong & Macau

About the role

We are looking for a Principal Human Resources Partner to lead employee relations across Hong Kong and Macau. The role combines deep expertise in employment law with strategic HR business partnering, supporting both the employee experience and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Act as subject‑matter expert on Hong Kong and Macau employment law, employee relations, investigations, disciplinary procedures and consequence management.
• Provide advice and guidance to HR Business Partners and people managers on complex cases, ensuring fair, consistent and legally compliant outcomes.
• Lead workplace investigations, hearings, grievance handling, discrimination and harassment matters, and manage documentation such as contracts, investigation reports and disciplinary records.
• Oversee terminations, redundancies, performance‑improvement plans and other high‑risk employment decisions, mitigating risk and aligning with internal policies.
• Analyse employee‑relations trends, identify root causes and recommend improvements to policies, manager capability and employee experience.
• Deliver training, communication and coaching on employee‑relations topics and policy updates to HR and business leaders.
• Support workforce planning, headcount and budget reporting, talent management, succession planning, compensation reviews and recruitment activities in partnership with HR Business Partners.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in employee relations and employment‑law advisory for Hong Kong and Macau.
• Proven track record handling investigations, disciplinary actions and high‑risk employment decisions.
• Strong consultative and influencing skills with the ability to provide pragmatic, legally sound advice.
• Excellent analytical abilities to interpret trends and drive continuous improvement.
• Ability to train and coach managers and HR colleagues on policy and conduct matters.
