Private Equity Asia Analyst Intern (H1 2027, 6 months)

About the role

Manulife Investment Management's Private Equity group provides capital solutions such as junior debt financing, equity co-investments and fund commitments to private equity managers. The Private Equity Asia team is based in Hong Kong and focuses on private equity investments across the Asia-Pacific region. As an Analyst Intern you will mainly support the investment team in managing and monitoring the existing portfolio, and also support other parts of the investment process, including due diligence on potential investments. The internship runs from January 2027 to June 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing periodic investment reviews on existing investments
• Assist with ad hoc portfolio-related analytical projects and reporting initiatives
• Assist with due diligence on fund partners across various geographies and fund strategies
• Assist with due diligence on prospective equity co-investments, including reviewing historical financial performance, industry dynamics and competitive analysis, valuation analysis and financial modelling

Required profile

• Undergraduate or graduate student majoring in finance, economics or business administration
• Demonstrated passion for investing and interest in private market transactions
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills
• Team player able to work with internal and external teams in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, showing initiative, judgement and professionalism
• Full-time availability from January 2027 to July 2027

• Strong proficiency with Excel
