Public Relations Consultant

About the role

Ruder Finn Asia’s Corporate Practice in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced Public Relations Consultant to join its team. The role offers the chance to shape communications strategies for leading corporations and financial institutions across the region, working in a fast‑moving environment with high client impact.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor, delivering strategic counsel on corporate reputation, executive positioning, stakeholder engagement and issues management.
• Lead day‑to‑day client relationships, ensuring high‑quality delivery and client satisfaction.
• Design integrated communications strategies backed by research, insights and measurable business outcomes.
• Oversee programme execution across earned, owned, shared and paid media channels.
• Create compelling media materials, thought‑leadership content, key messaging and executive communications in English and Chinese.
• Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts and support new business development, proposals and pitches.
• Collaborate with regional and global teams to deliver cohesive communications solutions.
• Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and insight generation.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate communications, strategic communications or public affairs, preferably within an agency, consultancy or in‑house function.
• Proven track record managing corporate reputation, media relations and executive communication programmes.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to deliver high‑quality work under pressure.
• Excellent strategic thinking and analytical skills, with a commercial mindset.
• Professional fluency in spoken Cantonese and strong written English and Traditional Chinese.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher; experience with financial institutions is a plus.
