Research Assistant Professor – Experimental Quantum Sensing

About the role

The Department of Physics at The Chinese University of Hong Kong is seeking a Research Assistant Professor to lead experimental quantum‑sensing projects. The role focuses on developing multi‑parameter sensing protocols and high‑resolution 3D imaging using diamond nitrogen‑vacancy (NV) centers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement protocols for simultaneous sensing of temperature, chemical species, pressure, current and other parameters.
• Develop time‑resolved, three‑dimensional imaging techniques with sub‑micron spatial resolution in operating devices.
• Maintain and upgrade experimental setups based on diamond NV‑center technology.
• Publish research findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at international conferences.
• Contribute to teaching and supervision of graduate students as required.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree in Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated research experience in experimental quantum sensing or related areas.
