Sales Specialist – Institutional Buy‑Side

About the role

The Business Need team at FTSE Russell, part of the London Stock Exchange Group, is looking for a Sales Specialist to develop new business within the Asia‑ex‑Japan buy‑side market. Based in Hong Kong or Shanghai, you will manage institutional relationships with asset managers, fund administrators and custodians.

Key responsibilities

• Build and deepen relationships with key stakeholders across the buy‑side ecosystem.
• Identify client requirements and position FTSE Russell as a strategic partner to meet investment goals.
• Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve or exceed revenue targets.
• Provide product expertise on equity, fixed income, ESG and custom indexes, delivering tailored solutions.
• Collaborate with global sales, product, research and marketing teams to align strategies and capture cross‑regional opportunities.
• Track sales activities, pipeline progress and client feedback using CRM tools.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of sales or new‑business development experience in financial services.
• Strong understanding of the investment management process and ecosystem across asset classes.
• Proven ability to sell solutions to institutional clients and manage accounts.
• Analytical and quantitative skills with a solutions‑based selling approach.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of index products (equity, fixed income, ESG, custom).
• Experience with CRM systems for pipeline and activity tracking.
