Senior Android Developer

About the role

Lalamove is scaling its logistics platform across Asia and beyond, and needs a senior Android engineer to drive its mobile experience. You will join a fast‑moving team that builds and iterates on the core Android product used by millions of drivers and customers daily.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to architectural decisions, design patterns and best practices that shape the app’s foundation.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable Kotlin/Java code while mentoring other developers.
• Collaborate with backend engineers, designers and product owners to continuously improve user experience and functionality.
• Optimize performance, including UI responsiveness, memory management and battery usage.
• Stay up‑to‑date with Android OS advancements and propose innovative technical solutions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of native Android development experience.
• Strong knowledge of multi‑threading, queues, collections, dispatchers and garbage collection.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and Java; experience with C++, Rust, JavaScript/TypeScript or Kotlin Multiplatform is a plus.
• Deep understanding of MVVM architecture, Kotlin Coroutines and Jetpack Compose.
• Experience writing unit tests and instrumentation/UI tests.
• Ability to work outside regular hours for production issues or hot‑fixes.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
