Senior Compliance Business Analyst – Control Room

About the role

G MASS Consulting is partnering with a leading hedge fund to hire a Senior Compliance Business Analyst for its Control Room in Hong Kong. The role blends day‑to‑day control responsibilities with data‑driven process improvement and automation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and administer restriction lists, watch lists and restricted lists, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
• Perform position‑limit monitoring across asset classes, investigate breaches and data anomalies, and escalate as needed.
• Support information‑barrier, MNPI, and sanctions screening controls, including wall‑crossing procedures and disclosure obligations.
• Build and maintain SQL‑based reports, checks and tools to reduce manual processing and improve data quality.
• Develop a detailed understanding of data lineage and address data‑quality issues at source.
• Document, review and refine Control Room procedures, controls and workflows.
• Gather requirements and work with technology teams to enhance data feeds, logic and tooling.
• Drive automation and AI‑enabled tooling opportunities while ensuring governance.
• Assist with periodic regulatory reviews, audit queries and other ad‑hoc requests.

Required profile

• Strong experience in a hedge fund, investment bank, asset manager or similarly regulated environment.
• Background in compliance, control‑room operations, business analysis or data‑focused functions.
• Ownership mentality with the ability to work independently in a lean team.
• Proven track record of managing issues end‑to‑end across teams, systems and data flows.
• Solid business‑analysis skills: requirements gathering, process documentation and data analysis.
• Working knowledge of MNPI, information barriers and conflicts management (or ability to learn quickly).
