Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Data Center (Hong Kong SAR)

About the role

The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will lead the electrical design of mission‑critical data centre projects in Hong Kong. Working closely with internal stakeholders, consultants and contractors, you will ensure designs meet business and technical requirements from concept through construction.

Key responsibilities

• Define project design criteria and develop the Basis of Design (BOD).
• Lead consultants through schematic design, design development and construction documents.
• Manage design‑build contractors to deliver projects that meet the BOD.
• Provide construction administration support, including RFI responses, technical bulletins, submittal reviews and shop‑drawing checks.
• Conduct source inspections, oversee commissioning and perform on‑site engineering studies.
• Identify energy‑efficient solutions and review change‑management requests.
• Participate in root‑cause analysis for equipment failures or power outages.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in building design and construction.
• Knowledge of high‑voltage (115 kV, 12 kV) substation design and mission‑critical power distribution systems.
• Familiarity with NFPA, UFC and UBC codes and safety regulations.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, able to deliver under pressure.
• Willingness to travel regionally and overseas up to 30%.
