Senior Legal Counsel – Global Payments & Regulatory

About the role

OSL is seeking a senior legal professional to lead its global licensing and regulatory strategy for its next‑generation payment infrastructure. The role will work closely with product, compliance and risk teams to ensure cross‑border settlement models comply with local laws across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Drive licensing submissions, renewals and strategic regulatory filings in key growth markets such as Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia and Africa.
• Act as the primary legal liaison with financial regulators, central banks and external counsel.
• Interpret global financial services, crypto and payment regulations and advise executive leadership on strategic risk and expansion limits.
• Partner with product, compliance and risk teams to align business models and cross‑border settlement flows with local legal requirements.
• Draft and negotiate regulatory‑driven agreements, joint‑venture contracts and strategic banking partner agreements.

Required profile

• 8+ years post‑qualification experience, preferably from top international law firms or leading tech/fintech companies.
• Proven track record in executing financial services, payment or digital‑asset (VASP) license applications.
• Deep knowledge of global payment regulations, central‑bank rules and digital‑asset compliance frameworks.
• Business‑level fluency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken).
• Strong communication and cross‑border stakeholder management abilities.
