Senior Specialist, Cloud Database Engineer

About the role

The Cloud Database Engineer will join the Vitality Data Platform team to ensure secure, high‑performance database systems that support business continuity and innovation across Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver critical database projects such as platform modernization, PostgreSQL upgrades, and pre‑production environment setup.
• Establish database strategy, governance, and lifecycle standards aligned with cloud adoption.
• Perform proactive health checks, patching, version upgrades, and performance tuning.
• Design highly available, fault‑tolerant architectures for OLTP and OLAP workloads, including replication, sharding, and clustering.
• Collaborate with data engineering, DevOps, security, and analytics teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Mentor contractors, provide technical guidance, and review implementations for compliance.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience managing PostgreSQL and Azure cloud databases.
• Strong knowledge of database security, compliance (GDPR, ISO), and data integrity.
• Proven ability to lead modernization initiatives and work cross‑functionally.
