Senior Water Engineer – Technical Lead

About the role

Arup is seeking a Senior Water Engineer to provide technical leadership on drainage, sewerage and water supply schemes across multi‑disciplinary projects. You will work independently and collaboratively to deliver high‑quality designs and assessments that support sustainable infrastructure development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of impact assessments, hydraulic analyses and design options for drainage, sewerage and water supply systems.
• Develop outline, preliminary and detailed designs, including technical specifications and reports.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to create integrated solutions.
• Manage project phases from tendering through design, procurement and site supervision.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in water‑related infrastructure.
• Professional membership of a recognised institution (preferred).
• Strong project‑management and problem‑solving abilities in multi‑disciplinary environments.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
