Solutions Engineering Manager

About the role

As Solutions Engineering Manager you will translate Global Switch’s engineering strategy into high‑quality, commercially robust technical solutions for data‑centre projects. You will guide early‑stage design, ensure alignment with reference designs, sustainability goals and investment criteria, and act as a trusted technical authority across feasibility, master‑planning and pre‑sales activities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain technical intelligence on customer needs, competitor facilities and emerging market demands to shape strategic design decisions.
• Research new technologies and sustainable engineering approaches, engaging with manufacturers and industry partners.
• Perform detailed test‑fits and feasibility assessments for potential acquisition sites, evaluating constraints and opportunities.
• Support due‑diligence processes with technical insights, risk analysis and sustainability recommendations.
• Analyse power and cooling solutions against efficiency, operability, total cost of ownership and design complexity.
• Collaborate with delivery and site teams during design and construction to incorporate lessons learned and improve technical standards.

Required profile

• Leader with deep data‑centre engineering experience and commercial acumen.
• Strong communicator able to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences and influence senior stakeholders.
• People manager who inspires high‑performing engineering teams, drives continuous improvement and champions sustainability.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring timelines, budgets and quality standards are met.
