Specialist, Implementation Engineering

About the role

As a Specialist in Implementation Engineering you will provide technical support to merchants integrating Checkout.com’s payment processing platform. You will guide customers through configuration, debugging, testing and go‑live phases while ensuring a smooth post‑implementation experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support to merchants during implementation of Checkout.com payment processing technology.
• Answer integration‑related questions covering configuration, debugging, documentation, testing, go‑live and post‑live support.
• Manage integration incidents – investigate, troubleshoot, escalate, resolve, report and track time.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Sales Engineer, Technical Account Manager, Sales, Account Managers, Merchant Configuration, Merchant Care) to resolve issues during trials, integrations or post‑implementation.
• Interact with Product teams to suggest improvement ideas.
• Advise management on customer‑impacting issues and recommend actions.
• Handle multiple projects and customer integrations simultaneously.
• Maintain and update existing libraries/plugins used in integrations.

Required profile

• Up to 3 years of development or technical support experience in a Tech/FinTech environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or equivalent practical experience.
• Understanding of APIs, REST, webhooks and log analysis.
• Strong coding skills in at least one language (Java, JavaScript, PHP, Python, Go, C#).
• Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin).
