Stables Services Assistant

About the role

Join the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Racing Division as a Stables Services Assistant, supporting the daily operations of the Shatin Racecourse stables. You will work on a shift basis, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, ensuring the welfare and smooth movement of racehorses.

Key responsibilities

• Handle retired or quarantined horses as scheduled by the supervisor.
• Assist with loading, unloading and transportation of horses at entry and exit points.
• Support daily cleaning and operation of the horse swimming pool, including managing horse entry and exit.
• Provide horse grooming services.
• Patrol racehorse and quarantine stables during evening shifts.
• Assist during morning track work with loose or injured horses and support injured personnel.
• On race days, help assemble horses for races and manage their entry and exit in the parade ring.

Required profile

• Secondary 3 education or higher.
• Strong sense of responsibility, integrity, initiative, focus, flexibility and diligence.
• Good communication and organisational abilities.
• Proactive, positive attitude and ability to work independently.
• Horse‑handling experience is preferred.
