Storage & Backup Infrastructure Engineer – Banking

About the role

Join a leading banking organisation in Hong Kong as a Storage & Backup Infrastructure Engineer. You will be responsible for the design, operation and optimisation of enterprise storage, SAN, backup and disaster‑recovery platforms that support mission‑critical services.

Key responsibilities

• Administer enterprise storage platforms such as Hitachi HCP, Hitachi VSP, Pure Storage and NetApp.
• Manage SAN infrastructure, including Brocade switches, zoning, firmware upgrades and performance tuning.
• Implement storage provisioning, replication and cross‑site replication between production and DR data centres.
• Operate Veritas NetBackup, defining policies, scheduling jobs and handling recovery operations.
• Support disaster‑recovery planning, fail‑over testing and regular DR exercises.
• Monitor capacity, performance trends and conduct capacity planning for future growth.
• Plan and execute patching, firmware upgrades, technology refreshes and hardware end‑of‑support activities.
• Investigate incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and work with vendors to resolve complex issues.
• Produce operational reports and maintain accurate technical documentation for audit and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing enterprise storage, SAN and backup infrastructures in a large‑scale environment.
• Strong understanding of disaster‑recovery concepts and business continuity requirements.
• Ability to monitor system health, perform capacity planning and drive performance optimisation.
• Experience coordinating upgrades and migrations with minimal service disruption.
