Upper Primary Educational Assistant (Grade 3-5 Homeroom)

About the role

The Upper Primary Educational Assistant supports classroom teachers of Grades 3‑5 at Hong Kong International School. The role involves providing instructional assistance, supervising students throughout the day, and handling clerical tasks to ensure a smooth learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to individual students, small groups, or whole class.
• Teach small‑group activities such as art projects, math, and language arts.
• Assist students with technology devices, including computers and iPads.
• Supervise students during recess, lunch, library time, transitions, assemblies, and field trips.
• Ensure orderly entry and exit of students and follow safety procedures.
• Follow up on special student needs, including medication administration.
• Prepare classroom materials, photocopy, file, decorate, and order supplies.
• Support teachers with progress reports, attendance recording, and other administrative tasks.
• Cover planned teacher absences when required.

Required profile

• Ability to work under the direction and supervision of classroom teachers.
• Willingness to supervise students throughout the school day.
• Capability to assist with administrative and clerical tasks.
