Vice President, Group Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Vice President, Group Financial Controller to lead the group’s financial operations from our Hong Kong office. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will own end‑to‑end accounting, audit coordination, tax compliance and governance for a large global retail group.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee full‑cycle group accounting, monthly/quarterly/year‑end closes and consolidated financial statement preparation.
• Ensure all reports meet accounting standards, group policies and HKEX disclosure requirements.
• Develop and optimise group‑wide SOPs, conduct internal risk assessments and drive continuous improvement using technology and AI tools.
• Lead statutory and external audits for Hong Kong and Mainland entities, manage audit firms and implement audit recommendations.
• Manage cross‑border taxation for Hong Kong, Mainland and international entities, ensuring 100% compliance and effective tax planning.
• Provide financial governance and support for overseas expansion projects, including system set‑up, fund scheduling and risk control.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Professional qualification such as CPA (HKICPA) or ACCA.
• 20+ years of progressive financial management experience, preferably in a large global retail company listed on the HKEX.
• Proven experience with cross‑border retail finance, statutory audits and tax compliance.

Required skills

• CPA (HKICPA) or ACCA certification.
• In‑depth knowledge of HKEX Listing Rules and related corporate governance.
• Expertise in cross‑border tax compliance and planning.
• Strong command of financial reporting standards and consolidation techniques.
