Building Services Engineer

About the role

Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong is seeking a Building Services Engineer to join its Engineering Department. The role involves supervising plant and machinery operations, overseeing maintenance activities, and ensuring reliable service delivery across the hotel’s extensive facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise breakdown and preventive maintenance of all engineering plants, machinery and systems.
• Monitor utility consumption and manage work orders and telephone orders from the duty team.
• Liaise with contractors and internal departments to coordinate maintenance and repair tasks.
• Diagnose technical problems, develop solutions and implement corrective actions.
• Manage the departmental operating budget and ensure cost‑effective operations.
• Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by the Director or Assistant Director of Engineering.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience in building services.
• Proven experience supervising maintenance teams in a hospitality or large‑facility environment.
• Ability to manage budgets and coordinate with external contractors.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and commitment to safety and quality standards.
