General Technician

About the role

Mandarin Oriental The Landmark is seeking a General Technician to join its POMEC team in Hong Kong. The role involves diagnosing and repairing engineering issues across the hotel, ensuring all plant and equipment operate safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain proper and safe condition of all plant, plant rooms, equipment and work areas.
• Comply with fire, life, health, safety, security & environment standards.
• Follow hotel emergency procedures and perform Emergency Response Team duties as required.
• Provide courteous, professional service to guests, patrons and colleagues.
• Execute work in line with the Hotel Planned Maintenance Programme.
• Keep log books and records up to date.
• Assist engineering personnel with technical advice and uphold standards.
• Set up audio and video equipment for functions.
• Support energy conservation and control initiatives.
• Liaise with other departments and contractors.
• Arrange repair work for guest rooms, public and back‑of‑house areas.
• Monitor performance and efficiency of B&D sections.
• Arrange repairs for electronic, micro‑processor and computer‑controlled equipment.
• Suggest alterations or improvements to system operations.

Required profile

• Minimum higher certificate holder in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

Required skills

• Audio and video equipment setup.
