Mise-en-Place Chef for 2-Michelin-Star Chinese Restaurant

About the role

The Mise‑en‑Place position supports the kitchen of a 2‑Michelin‑star Chinese restaurant, preparing ingredients and ensuring smooth food production. You will work closely with chefs to maintain high standards of quality, safety, and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix ingredients for cooking.
• Prepare cold foods and cook according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers, and test foods for proper cooking.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions, and maintain a clean, sanitized kitchen environment.
• Monitor appliance and food temperatures, follow safety policies, and report any maintenance or safety issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of related kitchen experience.

Required skills

• Operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Food preparation techniques including portioning, chopping, weighing and mixing.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation and temperature control procedures.
