Java Developer – Global Transaction Banking (Payments & Cash Management)

About the role

Join the Global Transaction Banking team in Hong Kong to design and build modern Java micro‑services supporting payments and cash management solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java microservices using Spring Boot.
• Build REST APIs and integrate via messaging queues such as ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Contribute to architecture and integration design.
• Automate DevOps processes with Python (e.g., PyInfra) and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
• Deploy and manage services with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Work with PostgreSQL and ensure efficient data handling.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Provide production support, including compensated on‑call rotation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders (BA/PO/Management) and lead code‑quality initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong Java experience, preferably with Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments.
• Expertise in Git version control.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with messaging systems (ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Strong analytical and delivery mindset.
• Excellent English communication; autonomous and a team player.
