Senior Associate / VP – Accounting & Regulatory Reporting (Hong Kong)

About the role

The Senior Associate or Vice President will play a critical role within the Financial Control function, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial and regulatory reporting in Hong Kong.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit timely, accurate regulatory information to the HKMA, interpreting requirements and assessing impact on reporting and business activities.
• Review accounting and regulatory implications of new products, transactions and strategic initiatives.
• Maintain robust controls and governance frameworks to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Execute month‑end closing and Head Office reporting in line with Group policies and IFRS.
• Assist with tax reporting and transfer pricing implementation.
• Drive automation and enhancement of regulatory reporting processes using new reporting solutions or AI tools.
• Identify inefficiencies and resolve reporting issues through data‑driven analysis.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders on accounting and regulatory matters.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with at least 6 years of experience (9 years for VP) in financial institutions, preferably with Big 4 exposure.
• Proven track record of driving system changes or process improvements.
• Detail‑oriented, collaborative, and self‑driven with strong analytical capabilities.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of the HKMA regulatory framework and reporting requirements (GDR experience a plus).
• In‑depth understanding of IFRS, especially for corporate and investment‑banking products.
• Proficiency with data tools such as Power Query and SQL.
• Experience with AI tools for automation and data analysis.
• Fluent in English and Chinese, with Mandarin speaking ability.
