Vice President/Assistant VP Relationship Manager – Japanese Corporate (Cantonese/English)

About the role

The role involves managing relationships with Japanese corporate clients in Hong Kong, driving profitability through both existing and new business, and delivering a full suite of transaction banking services while occasionally supporting investment banking activities.

Key responsibilities

• Visit and maintain close contact with existing Japanese corporate clients to maximize profitability.
• Acquire new customers and originate new deals across sectors such as ICT, semiconductor and automotive.
• Provide transaction banking services including loans, deposits, FX and trade finance, and occasionally investment banking support.
• Prepare credit applications, call memos and related documentation, and collaborate with middle‑office, product and sales‑support teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate banking, a large trading company or a sizable manufacturer.
• Native Cantonese and fluent English; Japanese and Mandarin are a plus.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Candidates with less experience may be considered for an Assistant Vice President role.
