Assistant Vice President – Financial Control (HO Reporting & Tax)

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group is seeking an Assistant Vice President to join its Financial Control Department in Hong Kong. The role focuses on head‑office reporting and tax compliance, ensuring accurate financial statements and supporting business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for head‑office submission, meeting strict deadlines.
• Conduct variance analysis, identify trends and provide actionable insights for decision‑making.
• Oversee month‑end and year‑end closing processes, coordinating with cross‑functional teams.
• Monitor daily ledger verification, investigate irregularities, and ensure data integrity.
• Calculate profit tax in compliance with Hong Kong regulations and manage timely statutory filings.
• Stay updated on IFRS and local tax changes, assessing impact and implementing compliance actions.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and facilitating communication.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve financial data issues and drive process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in a reputable financial institution.
• Strong analytical abilities and experience managing month‑end and year‑end closures.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented and able to work independently while supporting team objectives.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
• Expertise in Hong Kong profit‑tax regulations.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications for data analysis and reporting.
