CIO Credit Strategist

About the role

UBS is seeking a senior credit strategist to join its Chief Investment Office (CIO) APAC credit team in Hong Kong or Singapore. The role focuses on the Asia ex‑Japan corporate and sovereign bond market, developing bottom‑up credit analysis and delivering investment ideas that shape the UBS House View.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse hard‑ and local‑currency corporate and sovereign bonds across Asia ex‑Japan, covering more than 250 issuers.
• Develop and maintain a bottom‑up credit analysis framework, including detailed financial models.
• Make relative‑value recommendations to outperform specified benchmarks.
• Publish written reports on credit strategy, issuer updates and thematic ideas for internal and external audiences.
• Communicate the CIO House View to investment counsellors, advisors and clients, supporting pitches and portfolio reviews.
• Maintain the integrity of internal bond databases.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in Asia credit markets.
• Strong analytical skills and deep understanding of rates and credit dynamics.
• Excellent written and spoken English; business Mandarin is a plus.
• Confident presenter to diverse audiences.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Bloomberg.
• Experience using Data Query and CapitalIQ databases.
