Commi I – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commi I to join the kitchen team at Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara. The role involves supporting daily food preparation, maintaining stock levels and ensuring strict adherence to safety and hygiene standards.

Key responsibilities

• Stock the assigned kitchen with raw materials and ingredients on a daily basis.
• Operate all electrical and mechanical kitchen equipment safely and maintain it.
• Prepare ingredients, perform cutting and mise‑en‑place for the assigned station.
• Cook food items according to standard recipe cards, controlling portions and minimizing waste.
• Apply HACCP food safety and hygiene standards and keep the production area clean.
• Report any hazards, unsafe conditions or equipment issues to the supervisor promptly.

Required profile

• Familiarity with hotel fire and life safety/emergency procedures.
• Willingness to attend briefings, meetings and training sessions as required.
• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
• Perform other reasonable duties assigned by management.

Required skills

• Operating kitchen equipment safely.
• Basic cooking techniques such as cutting and mise‑en‑place.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP).
