Commis II – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

The Commis II will support the Production team in preparing high‑quality dishes at the Desert Islands Resort & Spa. Working under the direction of the Sous Chef, Executive Chef or Chef de Partie, you will help ensure seamless kitchen operations and exceptional guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Production team with food preparation and related kitchen duties.
• Execute tasks assigned by the Sous Chef, Executive Chef or Chef de Partie across all kitchen sections.
• Maintain HACCP procedures and keep accurate records at all times.
• Collaborate with catering and stewarding departments to meet event objectives.
• Monitor stock levels, conduct stock rotation and support stock‑take activities.
• Minimise food waste and contribute to cost‑effective resource use.
• Ensure personal grooming, hygiene and compliance with company and statutory standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a hotel or resort kitchen environment.
• Ability to follow detailed recipes, instructions and hygiene standards.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
