Director of Catering

About the role

The Director of Catering leads the property’s catering sales department, driving both reactive and proactive sales efforts. This senior management position is responsible for achieving revenue targets, ensuring guest and associate satisfaction, and delivering strong financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all catering sales activities, including local and group/convention business.
• Develop and execute a catering sales and marketing plan aligned with revenue goals.
• Create and manage budgets, forecasts, and revenue reports for catering and group rooms.
• Partner with Area Sales, Event Management, and hotel operations to qualify leads and deliver seamless service.
• Oversee proposal generation, contract writing, and customer correspondence.
• Ensure compliance with Marriott’s Customer Service Standards and brand standards.
• Lead, coach, and schedule on‑property catering sales associates.

Required profile

• 2‑year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or related field with 4 years sales/marketing experience, OR a 4‑year bachelor’s degree with 2 years experience.
• Strong understanding of catering sales processes and hotel operations.
• Proven ability to meet revenue targets and manage budgets.
