Legal Advisor – Operations

About the role

The Legal Advisor – Operations will provide comprehensive legal support for MTR Corporation’s operational and commercial activities in Hong Kong. The role involves advising on contracts, regulatory matters and internal policies to ensure compliance across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Review, prepare and advise on commercial contracts, business documents and marketing initiatives.
• Support development and maintenance of internal procedures, guidelines and policies for legal and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with corporate and commercial matters including employment, intellectual property, insurance, procurement, consultancy, data protection and statutory compliance.
• Provide advice on regulatory, compliance and contentious matters such as disputes, claims, investigations and regulatory enquiries.
• Conduct legal research, draft legal advice and support internal stakeholders on day‑to‑day legal issues.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and contribute to knowledge‑sharing and training initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws degree or post‑graduate legal qualification.
• Qualified solicitor in Hong Kong with at least four years post‑qualification experience.
• Experience in corporate and commercial legal matters; exposure to contentious, regulatory or compliance matters is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, drafting and problem‑solving abilities with excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
