Project Director - Healthcare / Hotel

About the role

Turner & Townsend is looking for a Project Director to lead the delivery of complex construction and workplace projects in the healthcare and hotel sectors, from inception to completion. The role covers strategic planning, stakeholder management, governance and execution, portfolio oversight, team development and business growth, and includes overseeing invoicing through D-365.

Key responsibilities

• Mentor and develop junior project managers and team members, foster a collaborative team culture and demonstrate inclusive, accountable leadership.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams including clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers, acting as the main client contact and facilitating communication through meetings, reporting and documentation.
• Define the project execution strategy, KPIs and governance frameworks for quality, safety, compliance, risk and environmental management.
• Drive project controls for schedule, cost, risk and change management, and lead executive-level reporting and performance dashboards.
• Manage end-to-end procurement, from tender strategy to vendor selection, and build strong partnerships with consultants and vendors.
• Monitor budgets and financial performance with the cost management team, manage variations, support commercial negotiations and contract administration, and handle invoicing in D-365.
• Conduct site inspections, manage permitting and statutory submissions, and resolve construction issues with contractors and consultants.
• Contribute to business development, including proposals, client presentations and market engagement, and capture lessons learned.
• Plan resources across projects, forecast needs, address skill gaps and balance workloads.

Required profile

• Construction-related degree (e.g. Project Management, Construction Management, Design, Engineering) or equivalent.
• At least 10 years' experience in project management or construction projects.
• Relevant project experience in the healthcare or hospitality sector.
• Experience in client management and business development, including value management, value engineering and life cycle costing.
• Cantonese at native level and English at business level.
