Quantity Surveyor (MEP) - Assistant, QS or Senior

About the role

Turner & Townsend is hiring an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP) in Hong Kong. You will deliver cost management services across construction projects, focusing on mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) works, supporting or leading cost management from feasibility through procurement, construction and project close-out.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies and prepare procurement reports
• Apply Value Management techniques early, collaborating with the specialist Value Management team where appropriate
• Manage estimating and cost planning, including ownership and presentation of cost plans
• Manage procurement, from pre-qualification and tendering to contractor selection and contract preparation
• Manage post-contract cost control, including cost variations and change management
• Carry out cost checking, valuations and commercial assessments
• Prepare and present monthly post-contract cost reports to clients
• Lead and support Value Engineering and Life Cycle Costing exercises
• Negotiate and agree final accounts with contractors and suppliers
• Interface with clients, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders throughout the project

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Building Services Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline
• Relevant experience in quantity surveying and cost management; varying levels of experience are welcome
• Experience in cost planning, procurement, tendering, contract administration, change management and final account settlement
• Strong understanding of MEP systems and building services installations; MEP quantity surveying experience highly preferred
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
