Senior Quantity Surveyor / Associate Director - Cost Management

About the role

Turner & Townsend is hiring a Senior Cost Manager (also titled Senior Quantity Surveyor / Associate Director) in its Cost Management practice in Hong Kong. The role leads the execution of cost management services for construction projects, ensuring cost control and quality objectives are met, and coordinates with clients and stakeholders. It also covers commission management, including invoicing processes and project compliance through D-365.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cost management project teams and key cost management roles, and help onboard and interview new team members.
• Build relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers, and manage conflicts and issues.
• Analyse project requirements and cost deliverables, and develop cost reporting structures and control mechanisms.
• Act as Commission Manager, owning end-to-end service delivery for large or complex commissions.
• Own estimating and cost planning, present final cost plan revisions, and lead monthly post-contract cost reports.
• Lead value engineering and life cycle costing exercises, and implement cost controls within schedule, cost, risk and change management.
• Lead commercial negotiations and contract administration, and support internal risk management procedures.
• Manage invoicing in D-365, validate invoice data, coordinate with finance teams and track invoice status.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Construction, Engineering or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in cost management or construction projects.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; people management experience is a plus.
• Experience in client-facing environments, including value management, value engineering and life cycle costing.
• Cantonese at native level and fluent English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Cost-X or equivalent cost estimation software.
• D-365 for invoicing and reporting.
