Senior Tax Manager – Deals & Asset Management

About the role

KPMG’s Hong Kong Deals and Asset Management Tax team provides tax advisory services for M&A transactions, covering investment, divestment and post‑acquisition phases. The Senior Tax Manager will work with multinational corporations, asset managers and private‑equity funds, helping them identify tax risks, design solutions and support sound investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and external clients on cross‑border M&A transactions, international tax advisory, due diligence and tax structuring.
• Apply corporate tax knowledge to M&A deals while considering broader tax implications.
• Develop innovative service offerings based on client research and market developments.
• Lead business development activities and promote tax services to existing and prospective clients.
• Stay updated on technical developments and market these solutions to senior management.
• Mentor and coach junior team members, ensuring project deliverables and follow‑up strategies are met.

Required profile

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, Law or a related business discipline and a professional qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of international and Hong Kong tax experience in a Big 4 firm or in‑house tax advisory role.
• Strong business development and client‑facing abilities.
• Excellent project‑management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Proven leadership experience, including delegation, coaching and mentoring of staff.
• Fluent written and spoken English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
