Acting Deputy Director of Nursing (Temporary)

About the role

The Southern NSW Local Health District is seeking an Acting Deputy Director of Nursing to provide senior leadership for nursing services at Yass Hospital. This temporary, full‑time position runs until April 2027 and supports the Facility Nurse Manager in delivering safe, compassionate, and high‑quality care to the rural community.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage clinical care services across all hospital areas.
• Lead a multidisciplinary health‑care team, fostering a learning environment.
• Support the Facility Nurse Manager in developing professional standards and quality‑focused care.
• Allocate nursing resources, set priorities, and contribute to organisational change initiatives.
• Implement continuous quality improvement programs, policies, and procedures.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
• Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Management or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to manage frontline clinical services and utilise mediation and consultation skills.
• Experience assessing and supervising staff competence and performance.
• Current unrestricted driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required.
