Assistant Manager, Public Affairs

About the role

The Hong Kong Tourism Board is seeking an Assistant Manager for Public Affairs to support senior leadership in communicating the organisation’s vision and initiatives. This role blends strategic writing, media liaison, and editorial oversight to enhance the Board’s public profile.

Key responsibilities

• Draft speeches, congratulatory messages, forewords, letters and presentation materials for senior executives.
• Prepare press releases, fact sheets and other media‑facing documents.
• Develop talking points, lines‑to‑take and written responses on topical issues.
• Compose replies and correspondence for Legislative Council members, government officials and other stakeholders.
• Provide English editorial review and quality control for corporate materials across divisions.
• Support the production of the Annual Report, coordinating translation and editorial tasks.
• Manage relationships with external vendors such as freelance writers and translation agencies.
• Undertake any additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• University graduate, preferably in Communications, Social Science, Translation or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in corporate communications, public affairs or editorial work.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Proven experience managing editorial output for a sizeable organisation or public body.
• Strong organisational skills with keen attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
