Head of Business & Managerial Communications, APAC (VP/Director)

About the role

Based in Hong Kong, the Head of Business & Managerial Communications for APAC reports to the Head of Communications and is a member of the APAC Communications Executive Committee. The role is responsible for shaping and delivering integrated communications across all Corporate & Investment Banking business lines in the region and for leading executive communications for the APAC CEO and senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute 360° communication plans for Global Markets, Global Banking & Advisory, and Global Transaction & Payment Services, leveraging media, digital, editorial content and events.
• Lead managerial communications for the APAC CEO, including speeches, thought‑leadership pieces, town‑halls and employee engagement initiatives.
• Oversee media relations across APAC, maintain relationships with key journalists, and manage spokesperson preparation.
• Anticipate and manage reputational risks, leading communication responses during crises or sensitive situations.
• Coordinate regional and local communications teams and external agencies to ensure consistent, high‑quality execution.
• Support business development by enhancing visibility and credibility of CIB franchises in key markets.

Required profile

• Proven experience in executive communications and stakeholder management at senior level.
• Strong track record in integrated communications and media relations within a matrix, multicultural environment.
• Strategic thinking with the ability to translate business priorities into impactful communication plans.
• Excellent command of English, both spoken and written, with experience drafting for senior executives.
• Expertise in crisis communication and reputational risk management.
