Assistant Sales Manager - Events & Exhibitions

About the role

Connect Marketplace Hong Kong, part of Informa Markets, is looking for an Assistant Sales Manager. The role drives sales performance and client relationships in the events and exhibitions industry, supporting the sales team in reaching revenue targets, finding new business and delivering excellent customer service. It is based in the Wan Chai office.

Key responsibilities

• Generate revenue through booth sales, digital sales, sponsorship and advertising, and fully integrated packages for new and existing customers
• Create new business leads by reaching out to prospects, taking part in trade shows and doing market research
• Develop brand- and industry-specific information to support new business sales
• Lead the onsite rebooking and customer retention plan throughout the year
• Work with the event and sales operations team on available floor-plan space
• Use Salesforce to run sales pipeline processes and keep data quality high
• Help collect overdue payments with the sales operations team
• Carry out other duties as assigned

Required profile

• University bachelor's degree from any discipline
• 6 years of sales or business development experience; less experience may be considered for a Senior Sales Executive
• Experience managing relationships with international customers across regions and cultures
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to handle customer objections
• Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
• Occasional travel required
