Assistant Vice President - Casualty Placement

About the role

Marsh Risk is looking for an Assistant Vice President to join its Casualty Placement team, based in Hong Kong. The role uses risk expertise and knowledge of industry and carriers to develop placement solutions that meet client needs, implement placement strategies to achieve growth goals and deliver exceptional client service.

Key responsibilities

• Develop placement solutions using risk expertise and knowledge of industry and carriers, and implement the placement strategy to meet growth goals.
• Develop the go-to-market strategy, articulate the value of the placement function and take part in pricing of services where applicable.
• Facilitate submission of coverage specifications and obtain carrier quotes under the "assist, advise and assume" model, then bind coverage and ensure the accuracy of placement binders.
• Maintain relationships with practices, insurance markets, clients, carriers and underwriters to provide cohesive client service.
• Advise clients and client executives on changing insurance and risk management market conditions and major product developments.
• Work closely with client executives and teams to support client retention and new business.
• Drive senior placement and technical support on assigned accounts, including procedural compliance, data review, annual renewal exhibits and accurate placement system entries.

Required profile

• At least 5 years' experience in general insurance broking for property and casualty (placement not limited to this).
• An underwriting background in casualty is highly preferable.
• Experience negotiating with underwriters for the best terms and conditions for clients on P&C placements.
• Good understanding of policies, contracts and facilities.
• Knowledge of the brokerage industry in Hong Kong.
• Proficiency in Chinese, English and Mandarin.
