Business Development Executive

About the role

Carousell Group, the multi-category secondhand platform in Greater Southeast Asia, is looking for a self-motivated Business Development Executive to join its Hong Kong Sales Team. The role expands global business development efforts and supports sustainable growth through new merchant acquisition, upselling and cross-selling to existing merchants, and after-sales service to keep client relationships strong.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new leads, build business relationships, manage client accounts and identify sales opportunities
• Offer personalised product recommendations based on client needs to promote products and services
• Maintain trust and good cooperation with existing clients
• Research businesses and individual merchants to understand their customer base and spot new opportunities
• Attend seminars and industry events
• Aim for personal monthly sales targets and prepare weekly and monthly performance reports
• Use AI tools to help account management and improve customer success, including understanding needs, increasing engagement and driving retention and expansion

Required profile

• Proactive, team-oriented with good interpersonal skills
• Goal-driven with a sense of responsibility for hitting targets
• Enthusiastic, positive mindset and adaptable to fast-paced startup environments
• 1 to 2 years of sales experience
• Preferred: e-commerce or related sales experience with a good track record, experience in fast-paced startups, and familiarity with Carousell's product categories

Required skills

• Ability to use AI tools for lead generation and data-driven sales pipeline building
• Knowledge of Carousell's product categories
