Business Development – Payments Channel Partnerships (Emerging Markets)

About the role

Better Payment Network (BPN) is building the liquidity infrastructure for global stablecoin payments. We are looking for a Business Development professional to own and expand local payment and clearing partnerships across Latin America and Southeast Asia. The role is fully remote and focuses on creating end‑to‑end fund‑flow solutions for merchants operating in emerging markets.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and onboard local banks, payment institutions, acquirers, PSPs and e‑wallets.
• Design and optimise fund‑flows covering pay‑in, pay‑out, settlement, FX conversion, reconciliation and refunds.
• Lead commercial negotiations on pricing, settlement cycles, transaction limits and service levels.
• Assess partners from commercial, operational, regulatory and compliance perspectives.
• Collaborate with compliance, risk, product, engineering, treasury, finance, legal and operations teams to launch new payment channels.
• Monitor channel performance, settlement efficiency, operational risks and fund safety.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in cross‑border payments, financial‑institution business development or channel partnerships.
• Hands‑on experience in Latin America and/or Southeast Asia payment ecosystems.
• Deep knowledge of local payment rails and clearing mechanisms (e.g., Pix, SPEI, DuitNow, QRIS) and major e‑wallet networks.
• Proven track record working directly with banks, payment institutions, acquirers or PSPs.
• Strong understanding of settlement structures, fund‑flow design and regulatory frameworks (KYC/KYB/AML).
• Excellent commercial negotiation and cross‑functional execution skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of local payment rails (Pix, SPEI, DuitNow, QRIS) and e‑wallet ecosystems.
• Fund‑flow design and settlement structure expertise.
• Familiarity with KYC, KYB and AML compliance processes.
