Cargo Operations Officer (Hong Kong)

About the role

The Cargo Operations Officer will ensure smooth cargo handling at Qatar Airways' Hong Kong station. Working closely with ground handling agents, freight forwarders and local authorities, the officer guarantees compliance with IATA and local regulations while supporting efficient inbound and outbound cargo movements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily cargo operations and coordinate with GHA staff to maintain service standards.
• Ensure strict adherence to local authority regulations and IATA rules.
• Liaise with external service providers, shippers and consignees to resolve operational issues.
• Report safety, security and OHS incidents in the Rolls Royce SMS Solutions system.
• Escalate regulatory, quality or performance concerns to regional management.
• Oversee qualification and training of external providers to meet Qatar Airways Cargo requirements.
• Assist in managing disruptions, emergencies or cargo back‑log situations.

Required profile

• Experience in cargo or airport operations, preferably in an airline environment.
• Strong knowledge of IATA cargo regulations and local customs requirements.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle operational emergencies.

Required skills

• Familiarity with IATA cargo regulations.
• Understanding of local customs and government cargo regulations.
• Experience using safety and incident reporting systems (e.g., Rolls Royce SMS Solutions).
