CIO Credit Strategist – APAC Credit Team

About the role

UBS is seeking an experienced Credit Strategist to join its Chief Investment Office (CIO) APAC Credit team. Based in Hong Kong or Singapore, you will shape the credit view for Asia ex‑Japan corporate and sovereign bonds and contribute to the UBS House View used across Global Wealth Management.

Key responsibilities

• Focus on the Asia ex‑Japan corporate and sovereign bond market across hard and local currencies (SGD, AUD, CNH, HKD).
• Develop a bottom‑up credit analysis framework for covered issuers, including detailed financial models.
• Make relative‑value recommendations on bonds to outperform a specified benchmark.
• Publish written reports on credit strategy, issuer updates, and thematic ideas.
• Communicate the CIO House View to internal stakeholders and external clients, especially on rates and credit perspectives.
• Collaborate with Investment Counsellors and Advisors on client pitches and portfolio reviews.
• Support the team in maintaining the integrity of internal bond databases.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in Asia credit markets.
• Strong understanding of Asia credit index components and the rates market.
• Excellent analytical skills with a broad view of asset allocation.
• Confident presenter, able to address diverse audiences.
• Fluent written and spoken English; business Mandarin is a plus.
• Curiosity about AI applications in workflow optimization, with sound judgment and adherence to risk and ethical standards.

• Experience using Data Query.
• Familiarity with CapitalIQ.
